Our offer for students of Regensburg's universities

More than ten years ago, a contribution-financed semester ticket has been introduced by the Regensburg transport association (RVV). This allows the University of Regensburg and Regensburg University of Applied Sciences (OTH Regensburg) students to make any number of rides on all buses and rail connections (2nd class on local trains operating in the RVV area) within the entire RVV area (zones 1 - 10) for a mandatory contribution of € 98,00 € per semester.

As travel ticket herefore serves the student ID card applicable to the relevant semester coupled with the valid official ID or passport. The imprinted entitlement to use bus and train within the RVV-area ist not transferable.

  • The semester ticket applies to Regensburg University of Applied Sciences (OTH Regensburg) students during the 2019/20 winter semester from the 1st of October 2019 to the 14th of March 2020 and in the 2020 summer semester from the 15th of March to the 30th of September 2020, i.e. even during lecture-free periods.

  • Students of the University of Regensburg are entitled to use the semester ticket during the 2019/20 winter semester from the 1st of October 2019 to the 31st of March 2020 and in the 2020 summer semester from the 1st of April to the 30th of September 2020, i.e. even during lecture-free periods.

This imprinted entitlement to use bus and train within the RVV-area does not apply to guest students and severely disabled persons who are entitled to free transport.

The university area is serviced by eight regular bus lines.

Lines 2, 4, 6 and 11 operate year-round. In the lecture periods, the offer is extended by the campusLINIEN C1, C2, C4 and C6.

In addition to these regular scheduled services, the university and the university of applied sciences (OTH) are also directly accessible by the lines 19 (from the Bad Abbach region) and 21 (from the southern Regenburg district).

Here you will find an overview map of the bus stops at university.
